Performance – AGathering
"Agathering" is an immersive artistic project centered around the timeless line dance, The Electric Slide.
It aims to foster a sense of community and participation through an inclusive and interactive dance experience. With a blend of continuous movement and unending music, the project creates a vibrant atmosphere that transcends boundaries between dancers and spectators.
Through its symbolic representation of tradition and unity, "AGathering" inspires reflection on the value of togetherness and collective engagement in society. Accessible and adaptable to various venues, in and outdoors, it offers a unique opportunity for individuals to connect and celebrate the joy of dance.

Maria Naidu is a multifaceted artist with an absolute passion for dance and a strive to make it accessible to a wide audience without compromising on artistic quality. She aims to deeply move her audience, evoke emotion and provoke thought. Her artistry is rooted in a strong belief in dance's ability to communicate beyond language and intellect.
Maria explores the physical, perceptual, sensual, social, emotional and spiritual dimensions that dance can generate. Issues she has artistically addressed in recent years include identity, cultural and ethnic belonging, and body ideals. She has produced 37 artistic works of varying length, for different sized ensembles, diverse audiences and all kinds of venues, that have toured or performed in 14 countries, on five continents.
